Just last month, Yostar, the publisher for the Japanese Azur Lane, announced that there will be an English version release sometime this year. With that, Yostar has finally launched the pre-registration for the promised English version on their official site! Players who pre-register will receive Magic Cube x5, Rapid Construction x5, Royal Cuisine x5, Diamonds x200 and a Yorktown Class Aircraft Carrier – Yuki Kana!
If you’re not familiar with what Azur Lane is, it was originally developed by Manjuu and Yongshi. The game was published by bilibili for both iOS and Android devices in China back in May last year. It was later released in Japan in September 2017 and was recently released in South Korea on February 2018.
The game features anthropomorphic characters of World War II warships, mainly from the fleets of the United States Navy, Royal Navy of the United Kingdom, Imperial Japanese Navy and Nazi Kriegsmarine. Players will collect these characters and battle against enemy fleets or the Sirens (aliens), who will later present themselves in the plot of the game.
Players will organize 2 fleets, one in the front row and one in the back row. There are fleet classes with each their strengths and weaknesses namely Destroyers, Light Cruisers, Heavy Cruisers, Battleships, Battlecruisers and Aircraft Carriers. By combining different types of ships, players will be able to create their “dream” team and conquer the battlefield with their unique skill combos.
With a strategically crafted team, during battle, players will be able to control their fleet. At the front row, the Destroyers, Light Cruisers or Heavy Cruisers will automatically fire shells at enemies but torpedoes will be launched manually. While the back row of Battleships, Battlecruisers or Aircraft Carriers will stay stationary and automatically letting off barrages or airstrikes that can be manually triggered. Of course, players can set it to auto-mode where the AI will control everything. Your fleet will also do battle automatically during PvP modes!
